No Respite!
These really are difficult and testing times in the fresh produce trade.
There has been no let up in the cold weather and prices have continued to rise to unprecedented levels.
The weak pound has not helped the cause with most of the produce now coming from abroad.
As a result, prices continue to rise on Iceberg, Tomatoes, Peppers, Cauliflower, Courgettes, Cucumber, Aubergines and soft leaf lettuce.
The big fear is that the weather is affecting planting and this could cause shortages later in the season
There are some good deals about this week though.
Mange Tout, Sugar Snaps, Local Parsnips, Moroccan Oranges and Pineapples are all top value.
